Creating an event
Users with the permission "Can manage events" can create events and share these with their own unit and sub-units. In groups, admins of the group decide whether all members or only group admins can create posts - those who can create posts in a group can also create events.
Group setting:
Events can be created from the feeds
or directly from the calendar module
Sharing events
Depending on their permissions users can share events with roles in their unit, sub-units, and with individuals or in groups.
Recurring events
You can set-up recurring events when creating an event.
Scheduling events
You can schedule events to be published and/or deleted at defined times.
Publishing options
You will have the following options when you create an event
- Show in feed and notify (If unchecked, the event will only be shown in the calendar view)
- Allow comments
- Highlight, request read confirmation, request participation
(When sharing events in groups only group-admins have these options)
Calendar view
Users will find a list of events that have been shared with them in the Calendar module. The list contains events shared in groups that the user is member of, those shared with the user's unit and role, and those shared with them individually. The default view shows events taking place within the next 30 days.
On the Web upcoming events will appear in the right hand side of the home screen.
Confirming participation
When you request participation on an event it will remain as "unread" in the invited users' notification center until they have responded to it.
Once confirmed the user can easily change the selection again if needed.
You can easily see who participates and who doesn't
Exporting participants
Open the menu on the post and press Export Participants to download a .csv file with an overview of invitees and their responses.
Sync Ziik with your Calendar (iCal)
The Ziik calendar integration allows you to see events shared with you on Ziik in your other calendar apps. Ziik events can be integrated with your Apple, Google, outlook or standalone calendar and are a one-way sync. Events in Ziik are made visible in your calendar app, but not the other way around.
