How to use Polls

Get feedback, spark engagement, and decide together with Polls in Ziik.

Whether you are deciding on the next team event, checking the pulse on workplace topics, or simply want quick feedback on a new idea, Polls are a simple way to involve others and make decisions together. They’re quick to set up, fun to answer, and great for keeping your workplace connected and engaged.

Who can create polls?

  • Users with the permission "Can manage Posts" can create and share Polls with their own unit and sub units.
  • In groups, everyone who can create posts, can also share Polls.

What can polls be used for?

Polls are a simple yet powerful way to involve your team in everyday decisions—big or small. Send out a poll and let the team decide: “What should we order for lunch?" or "What date works best for our summer party?"

They’re also great for involving employees in more meaningful choices. You might want to involve your staff in bigger decisions such as “What should the name for our coming campaign be?” or "Which topics would you like to learn more about?"

How to create a poll

From either your main feed or from a group feed, click "Create poll"

In the form that appears:

1. Ask a question

2. List your choices, click the plus to the right to add another one and the X to remove a choice.

3. By default, you and all users can see who responded what. By making the poll anonymous, no one, including you, can see who responded what.

4. By default, a user can only select one choice. Activating Multiple choses allows them to select multiple.

5. Choose whether to allow users to add their own choices to the poll

6. If you make the poll mandatory, notifications about it will be marked unread until users answer the poll.

7. Want answers before a certain time? Set a date for when the poll should close. Note that a poll cannot both be mandatory and also have a closing date.

8. Click save

Once you have saved the poll, you can choose to add additional text and attachments to it before publishing.

How to view votes on a poll

Once the poll is published, you can vote on it yourself and keep track of the stats.

If the poll is not anonymous, you can click on the number of votes (see image) to see who voted for what.
